AGE 1 FIRST VISIT
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children visit the dentist by the age of 12 months, or when the first tooth appears. Bringing your child in at this age allows the Main Street Pediatric Dentistry Team to evaluate your child, introduce them to proper oral hygiene techniques, and start to build a foundation of trust with your child. With each visit your child will become more aware of the surroundings which can lead to a much easier dental experience as they grow. With our one of a kind submarine dental office, they'll for sure be wanting to come back soon!
One of the most important components of pediatric dentistry is child psychology. Pediatric dentists are trained to create a friendly, fun, social atmosphere for visiting children, and always avoid threatening words like “drill,” “needle,” and “injection.” Dental phobias beginning in childhood often continue into adulthood, so it is of paramount importance that children have positive experiences and find their “dental home” as early as possible.
Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high-quality dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing the best care possible.
